A Lesson in Repentance

Today, after school, Emma asked Michael if she could have a Hershey Kiss. He said she could have one, as it was still before dinner. Evidently she took two.

Later this evening we took the opportunity to talk about choosing the right, saying you're sorry, and trying not to make bad choices again. We discussed the repentance process and what she would need to say in her prayers tonight.

Having learned those things, she asked for help saying her bedtime prayer tonight, and it gave us more time to talk about why she was feeling bad about what she did and how Daddy would forgive her and so would her Heavenly Father if she truly was sorry for what she did and tried really hard to not do it again.

I held her during this conversation, trying to get her to stop crying, when she looked up at me and said, "Mom, I see a booger in your nose."

Nice.
